G POLITICS: DANJUMA CRITICIZED MY REGIME- PRESIDENT BUHARI

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has dismissed the claim by a former Minister of Defence, Gen. T.Y. Danjuma (retd.), that Nigeria under his watch is in deep rot.
Danjuma had, at a recent event in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, scored Buhari low in governance and anti-corruption war, claiming that Nigeria under the retired general’s watch “is in a big hole.”
He had said that most Nigerians would be seriously disturbed if he declared what he knew about what was going on in Buhari’s government.
While speaking at the University of Ibadan, during a book launch, Danjuma was quoted by to have said, “In Yorubaland, everybody seems to have lost their voice, scared. And people appear not to care about what is happening. If I tell you what I know is happening in Nigeria today, you will no longer sleep.
“So, Chief Ayo Adebanjo’s warning and advice are very timely. If you want details, I will give it to you privately.
“We are in a big hole as a nation. And people who put us in this hole have continued today. So, we’ve to wake up. Only we can save ourselves.”
But Buhari in an interview he granted the current edition of The Interview Magazine, said he cared less about Danjuma’s comment, noting that the ex-minister’s comment was a one-man opinion, compared to the majority of people whose votes he garnered to return as President for a second term in 2019.
Buhari said, “And what is the vote of confidence of Nigerians in me, as expressed in the polls last year? That is what matters more, not the opinion of one man.”
Buhari, in the interview, also said the relationship between him and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo “is perfect” despite the perception in certain quarters that there may be a cold war between the two.
He also denied the existence of a ‘cabal’ in his regime, said to be dictating the pace of governance in the country.
Asked about his relationship with Osinbajo, he simply replied, “Perfect. Or has he complained to you? Thank you very much.”
On the alleged existence of a cabal, Buhari said, “I addressed this matter before. I was the one who went round the country on campaigns, and I was the one voted into office as President twice.
“No one else did, and no one else took the oath of office, and can exercise the powers of a President.”
When asked whether some of the actions of his regime were not in direct opposite to his claim of being a “reformed democrat,” Buhari said he did not expect critics to praise him.
According to him, his satisfaction is that Nigerians have confidence in him, as expressed during the last polls.
“You called them critics. If they are critics, you would hardly expect them to garland me. Rather, they would look for things to try and de-market me.
“But, I am glad that as they do that, millions of Nigerians know who their President truly is, and they have made it clear in 2015 and 2019 presidential elections. All countries, including the old democracies must maintain law and order. If you look around the world, our policing operations are as restrained as any,” he added.
The President also spoke on the decision of PUNCH titles to prefix his name with Major General because of some of the anti-democratic actions of his regime.
He said, “Am I not a retired Major General of the Nigerian Army? I didn’t just pick the rank in the streets, I earned it,” Buhari said.
He clarified a comment he made in March last year after winning the election that things would be “tough” in the next four years, explaining that the meaning was twisted to make it look like he promised to make things harder for Nigerians.
“I meant tough in terms of decisions we would take (and which we are now taking) and not in terms of hardship for the people. But those who love to twist everything attempted to change the meaning.
“But we are glad that those who know really know. No good leader should wish his people tough times at anytime,” he added.

G BREAKING NEWS: P&ID CLAIMS VICTORY OVER FRAUDULENT CASE WITH EFCC

Process and Industrial Development, the beneficiary of an award of $9.6bn handed down against Nigeria by a London arbitration tribunal in January 2017, has laid claim to another victory at the ongoing enforcement proceedings before the English Commercial Court in London.
The British Virgin Island firm in an e-mail sent to our correspondent on Sunday gave a brief account of the proceedings of the English Commercial Court which held on Friday.
The firm had on August 16, 2019, obtained a judgment of the English court permitting it to commence the enforcement of the $9.6bn arbitral award.
Alleging fraud in the signing of the contract leading to the decision of the arbitration tribunal, the Federal Government has initiated a series of legal proceedings in the English court to challenge its judgment validating the $9.6bn award.
A hearing in respect of the Federal Government’s case challenging the judgment came up before the English court on Friday.
P&ID’s account of the Friday’s proceedings was different from the one earlier given by the spokesperson for the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), Dr Umar Gwandu.
By the AGF’s account of the proceedings, parties to the case through their lawyers appeared in the English High Court for “a scheduled case management conference on Friday.”
The statement added that with the timetable set by the court on Friday, “P&ID has 28 days to respond to the application for the extension of the time to challenge the arbitral award.”
It said the court would thereafter set a date for hearing of the Federal Government’s application.
But the P&ID said on Sunday that the English court delivered a ruling in its favour and against Nigeria.
It said on Friday, the English court set a deadline in the next summer for the Federal Government to justify its years of delay in challenging the award.
It said, “On Friday, the English Commercial Court ruled in favour of the P&ID, and against the Nigerian Government. This decision is another victory in favour of the P&ID as it continues efforts to compel the Nigerian Government to comply with its legal obligations to pay damages to the P&ID  as has already been ordered by the English Court.
“The ruling means that Nigeria must now justify its multi-year delay in challenging the award at a special hearing to take place before this summer, failing which it will be barred from raising its allegations of fraud before the English court.
“Nigeria’s defeat in court comes after the English Court of Appeal on Monday rejected Nigeria’s attempts to delay its appeal by including claims of fraud. The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Flaux stated that Nigeria’s application was ‘misconceived.”
It insisted that the investigations being conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission into alleged fraud committed by the P&ID with respect to the contract leading to the $9.6bn award was a sham.
Last year, the Federal High Court in Abuja, following the charges filed by the EFCC, convicted the P&ID and ordered the forfeiture of its assets to the Federal Government.
A former Nigerian official and other foreigners are currently standing trial in respect of alleged fraud relating to the controversial agreement leading to the $9.6bn award.
The firm urged the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), “to abandon its ill-fated attempts to avoid its legal responsibilities through the sham EFCC investigation targeting innocents – a campaign which Nigeria only launched in reaction to its previous defeats before the Tribunal and the English Court – and instead, accept the reality of the Arbitration Tribunal Award in favour of the P&ID, and the decisions of the English Court.”
The $9.6bn award was first issued against Nigeria and in favour of the P&ID in a January 31, 2017 ruling of a London arbitration tribunal, which held the Federal Government liable for the breach of a 20-year gas supply agreement signed in 2010 between the P&ID and Nigeria, through the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Under the agreement, the firm was to build in the Niger Delta region, a gas processing plant for the refining of natural gas, also known as “wet gas” into “lean gas” which would be used by Nigeria to generate electricity.
The London Commercial Court in a judgment delivered on August 16, 2019 validated a London arbitration panel’s award of the sum of $9.6bn against Nigeria and in favour of the P&ID.
The Federal Government has since instituted a series of legal actions to have the judgment overturned.
It subsequently obtained a conditional stay of execution of the judgment and the court’s permission to appeal against the judgment.

G POLITICS: NIGERIAN POLITICIAN MEETS ELECTION MANDATE TO REDUCE POVERTY - HON. ADENIYE SALIU

Most Nigerian leaders lack the will power to fulfill their mandate when they are elected into power, to many they see it as a bait to sweet talking the people or perhaps when election comes, they will distribute bags of rice and disbursed little money which does not ensure or secure the rights and future of the people because after eating such rice and spent such money, they would always go back to deficiency. The gullible Nigerians and poor ones are mostly the victim of this situation.

Honourable Adeniye Saliu who was elected into office in July 24th 2017 is a young man who had proven that young people in Nigeria can do politics with difference and lay foundations that would secure the future of the people. within the interval of two years he had implemented various of his mandates which today the people of Eredo Local Government Council at Epe Lagos State are celebrating his effort to strive his community to a civilized clime. Roads and bridge projects were being accomplished at three communities, Iraye-Oke,Odomola and Odoegeri communities to 95% level, he had empowered over a hundred widows and elderly through his poverty alleviation programme, several pore-holes in different communities, youths are beneficiaries of his education programme from NOIC and Gbagada Vocational Scheme while two markets were put in place at Ireyoke and Mojoda communities and as well a six blocks of classrooms was established through his governance at Igboye. The Ilara community primary school which was founded since 1976 with ramshackle's infrastructures was now awarded according to him for proper rehabilitation while the Divisional Police head quarter was facilitated by his governance as well  just for a short period of his first tenure.

Good works they say speak, we should not only criticize these politicians but bring to light the good works of those who are prepared to take Nigeria to the next level for others to emulate

G BREAKING NEWS: US TO PLACE NIGERIANS UNDER VISA CONDITIONS

United States President, Donald Trump, is set to add Nigeria and six others to a new list of countries on America’s visa restriction, Wall Street Journal reports.According to the report, Nigerians would not be barred from entering the country but would not be issued with certain types of visas.
The Trump administration plans to roll out its expanded travel restrictions on Monday, marking the three-year anniversary of the initial travel ban Trump signed on his seventh day in office, sparking controversy at the beginning of his term.
Unlike the initial travel ban list of 2017, most of the new countries don’t have majority-Muslim populations. Several of them, however, have had relatively higher rates of their citizens overstaying visas in the US, according to DHS data.
The report reads in part, “The Trump administration plans to add seven countries to a group of nations subject to travel restrictions, including Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, along with others in Africa and Asia, according to administration officials who have seen the list.
“The new restrictions would apply to travellers and immigrants from Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania. The countries wouldn’t necessarily face blanket bans on travel to the US, but could have restrictions placed on specific types of visas, such as business or visitor visas, administration officials said.”
Nigeria could be on the list because it has a high rate of persons overstaying their visas.
In the 2018 fiscal year, 24 per cent of Eritreans on business or visitor visas overstayed their permits, along with 15 per cent of Nigerians and 12 per cent of people from Sudan. Those compared with a total overstay rate in the category of 1.9 per cent.
According to WSJ, some countries could be banned from participating in the diversity visa lottery program, which awards green cards to people in countries with low levels of immigration to the US.
President Trump has called for an end to that program, saying it lets undesirable people into the US, and he has proposed reorienting the existing visa system toward skilled workers instead.
Nigeria had already been barred from participating from the lottery programme over six years ago.

The officials said the list isn’t final, and on Tuesday the White House was still debating whether to include one or two of the countries.
The Department of Homeland Security didn’t respond to request for comment. The State Department declined to comment.
The administration has said its policy restricting travel is necessary to prevent potential acts of terrorism, as countries on the list don’t adequately vet their travellers to the US.
The first order, which banned travel to the US by most residents of seven majority-Muslim countries, was struck down by a federal court and withdrawn. A second iteration of the ban, issued in March 2017, was also struck down by a federal judge who said it still amounted to religious discrimination against Muslims.
A third version of the policy, issued in September 2017, was upheld by a divided Supreme Court in a 5-4 ruling in June 2018 on the grounds that federal law gives the president broad authority to suspend entry to the US
Those current restrictions blocked travel by individuals from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and North Korea, and by political officials from Venezuela. The administration briefly included Chad on the ban list, but removed the country in April 2018.

Due to professionalism, the right peopl in position to sell, making referrals of animals to the society and also deliver these animals to the society are the veterians, for they know the health policy or situations of every animal that would fit in the society at any given time or circumstances. He encouraged the public that as a veterian, Zoonist is one of the sudy of man and animals which a non profgessional who purchase animals by the road side might not be conversant with, meanwhile, it might pose a threat via the kinds of animals they purchased to the society by not fully knowing the health and importance of such animals. Niogerians should be informed on how to purchase and have referrals of animals from the veterinary since the vets are in goodf position to trade, treat and sense the situatuion of any animal. He said that animal's drugs can not survive without temperature, therefore, relating with  poor power supply in the country has made business exobitant because private business owners do purchase fuel on a daily basis which he noted as one of the case of exobitant price of commodities and services rendered to nigerians in the country. Meanwhile, their profession as veterians do not allow them to do marketing or advert but strictly on professionalism geared towardds referrals which the government and other media should sipport in sensitizing the public for the need of animal to boosting teir health. G BREAKING NEWS: REASONS NATIONAL CARRIER FAILED

The inability of the Federal Government to yet get credible technical partners and investors to support the proposed new national carrier may have stalled its roll-out plans, 18 months after it was unveiled in London.
But The Guardian learnt that the airline project, though has remained a hard sell to more credible investors, has not been abandoned by the government.
By comparison, similar projects in neighbouring African states are not facing similar hurdles. Ghana, Uganda, and Senegal have attracted investors and made more progress in the re-launch of their national carriers in less than 12 months.
Despite the lull in the national carrier plan since its December 2018 launch was suspended indefinitely, some stakeholders remain optimistic that the project, already christened as ‘Nigeria Air’, will succeed at the completion of its due diligence.

The Federal Government in July 2018 unveiled the name and logo of the proposed carrier at the Farnborough International Public Air show in London, United Kingdom (UK) ahead of the planned initial take-off on December 24 of that year. The lack of budgetary provision, and criticism by the public forced the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, to “temporarily” ditch the December roll-out plan.
A top official at the Ministry of Transport hinted that the project was a work in progress and that the government was still “reaching out to people that matter”.
“Setting up an airline, and a national carrier for that matter, is not like other projects. You need the right partners to bankroll and offer technical backing. You need their commitment before making some moves, especially in this our environment,” the director said.
He said that the project handlers already had interested parties, but “the feeling is that Nigeria deserves a better deal from more credible partners out there.”
“It is not by how quick we can float the airline, because Nigeria is not like other countries (that have made headway with national carrier). Everything is being done with caution and in accordance with rules. There are bills at the National Assembly that will also help the national carrier and other projects.
“With the type of backlash that greeted the London launch in 2018, I doubt if anyone will want to rush anything or put the progress in the public domain,” he said.
The national carrier is intended to replace the defunct Nigeria Airways that ceased operations in 2003. The replacement was designed as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project with the Federal Government likely to own as much as 10 per cent stake. The equity was backed by N47 billion in the 2019 budget to help the airline take off after it reached the procurement stage just before the 2019 general elections.
Aviation consultant and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beljune Consult, Chris Aligbe, agreed that the process had to be rigorous to ensure that there are no hitches in the operations of the airline.

Policemen, on Tuesday, barricaded the venue of the protest against the Federal Government’s position declaring the establishment of Operation Amotekun as illegal.
Recall that the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had in a statement, described the Western Nigeria Security network codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’ as illegal.
The protest, expected to hold at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, was organised by the Yoruba World Congress.
It was tagged as “Amotekun Solidarity Walk”.

G GOSPEL MOVEMENT: IF THE NAME OF A PASTOR IS WRITTEN ON A BIG SIGN POST WITHOUT JESUS YOU WOULD NOT GO THERE, SO STOP LOOKING AT PASTORS BUT JESUS.

Many peolpe today do not know why they even go to church, some are so attached to the pastor or priest whereby they even forget who the true owner of the church is and whose name they were invited to the church . When you make research, you will notice that after the death of many G.Os(General Overseers) in most churches, the worshippers withdraw to other churches because to them there is no need they should be there for whom they put their trust in is dead.

To my observation, these set of persons do not know why they go to church because the major overseer is still alive which is "JESUS"(Psalm 121)," he doseth not nor sleepeth not and he is the pioneer founder, owner and groom of any church (Ephesians 5). He is the one who paid the price of every church you see around the world today and also he is the one who is attending to everyone's needs and not the pastor or priest.

I remember, I went to a chucrch for an assistance though with the mind set to serve God and not the pastor, so after the service I laid my issue to the pastor which was an assistant of three thousand naira I needed as a help, guess what happened! The pastor turned me down, this was after I had visited several churches for this same need. To some pastors and priests, I am not their parish member even if I am the church member while to some, they claimed they do no have. So I tendered my case to God, that God you are the one I came to serve, I can not steal nor trick someone for this situation. To God be the glory, the only one who doseth not nor sleepeth not even if all the G.Os(General Overseers) are dead, he is still alive to answer, answered my case and  gave me a client who gave me three thousand five hundred naira, imagine, I went to the churches for the help three thousand naira but God gave me three thousand five hundred naira, he added extra five hundred. That was when I knew that if you go to church for the sake of the pastor you will miss God.
