The turmoil in the Diocese of Lagos (Anglican Communion) took a turn for the worse when an Honourable Judge of the Lagos High Court suddenly excused herself from hearing the case filed by society photographer, S. Smart-Cole and one Chief Omogbehin. Many on the Lagos social scene are now openly discussing the desperation shown by Bishop Ademowo, his Chancellor Justice Oyebanji, and his synod secretary a priest apparently serving at ANCOPEN in Lagos. The trio are putting into effect and seem to have damned the consequences, the desperate intention on the part of Ademowo, the outgoing Bishop of Lagos of installing Bishop Olumakaiye of Osun North East, as the new Bishop of Lagos to succeed him, despite the fact that there are two cases, one at the Federal High Court Lagos and one at the Lagos State High Court, both with pending motions for injunction.
This so called desperation on Ademowo's part has now been traced to an evil oath entered into by the then Revd Ephraim Ademowo and Late Ven Olumaikaiye ( Bishop Olumakaiye's father, who was chased out of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ilorin for acts unbecoming of a priest). The oath/covenant was based on the premise of lust for materialism, that he (Olumakaiye) will through diabolical means help Ademowo grow in the ministry and become a Bishop and whenever he is retiring his son Humphery Olumaikaye MUST succeed him or else he will run mad and all his children will die one after the other.
Part of the preparation for his greatness was a fetish preparation that was helped carried by the then young Humphery that led to him getting involved in an accident in which he lost his ear, the story of his accident is kept for another day. Ademowo, before becoming a Bishop, served only as a Vicar of two churches - St Peter's Isona, Ilesha and St. Matthew's Ijebu Ijesha. In these two parishes, it can be confirmed that Ademowo left a footprint of stealing church funds. Chief Adewoye of Isona and Chief P. O Orunmuyi of Ijebu Ijesha can attest to these truths.
He became estranged with Bishop G.I.O. Olajide whom he succeeded as the Bishop of Ilesha because of a piece of land donated to the Diocese of Ilesha which he wanted to corner for his personal use. When he couldn’t have it to himself, he stoutly out of his self-praise, objected to the presence of Baba Olajide’s invitation to come and dedicate the church by the donor, Dr. Fajemisin. It took the threat by Dr Fajemisin to give the newly built church building to another denomination before he allowed Baba Olajide to dedicate the church. He has a history of fighting with his benefactors and most of the time it has had to do with money and issues of accountability, which he lacks. A man lacking integrity, he is obsessed with money! This is the reason for his fake and flamboyant lifestyle. He has put his hands in so many fetish things, and openly hobnobs with the likes of Olumide Shofowora SAN a known leading member of a front line Secret Society which is denounced by the Church.
The 'Saintly' bishop Ademowo who retires in disgrace and his team seem to get away with all they do in Lagos. Apart from the use of his Chancellor and the topmost government functionaries in the state to bully the judge into dropping the case file, there are many misdeeds that he seems to have gotten away with. Amorous relationships with some clergy wives like, but not limited to Mrs Gbemi A., S. Pirisola (who benefited with the funds of the Diocese and Women Organization). Even his able lieutenant, the said Synod Secretary, a known womaniser, impregnated the young girl staying with him and his family at ANCOPEN but was "covered" by the retiring Bishop. The most damning of all would be that of the Chancellor and judicial office willing to risk all, and for what?
