PRESIDENT BUHARI TO INEC

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, must not take Nigerians for granted.
He said this at the All Progressives Congress National Caucus meeting holding in Abuja.
In the meeting, monitored on Channels Television, Buhari said, “The constitution and laws protected INEC but they must not take us for granted.
“INEC had all the time and the all the resources, they had, they wanted and then to wait only for six hours to cancel the vote? Surely, the reason such incompetence manifested itself has to be explained to the nation.
“After the election, we have to know what happened and who is responsible.
“Otherwise, our efforts to make sure this system, we voluntarily accept is not making progress.
“What is the use if we accept incompetence?
Speaking on his departure to Abuja on Saturday, President Buhari said he had to break protocols to hasten his travel back to Abuja, after he was told about the postponement of the polls.
“I had to leave my immediate constituency and come back to Abuja immediately because I was told of INEC’s decision at quarter to five in the morning.
“The way, security and other protocol mobilise people ahead and leave them behind, when I’m moving, all the same, I had to tell them, I’m leaving and I left.”
