NORTH KOREA EMBASSY RAID THRUST SHADOWY GROUP

SEOUL (Reuters) - A shadowy group seeking to overthrow North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been thrust into the international spotlight after a Spanish court investigating a break-in at the North Korean embassy in Madrid named apparent members as suspects.Cheollima Civil Defense, also known as Free Joseon, first went public in 2017, when it said it was protecting the family of Kim Jong Un’s half brother Kim Jong Nam, who was murdered in a Malaysian airport.

Spanish authorities unsealed court documents on Tuesday accusing at least 10 individuals of storming into the embassy, restraining and beating some staff members and holding them hostage for hours before fleeing with stolen computers and hard drives. Such an action would be one of the most militant operations ever carried out by activists opposed to North Korea’s government.

“Parties seeking to ‘out’ those in Madrid have painted a target on the backs of those seeking only to protect others,” Cheollima Civil Defense said in a website post, apparently acknowledging for the first time its involvement in the raid. “They have chosen to side with Pyongyang’s criminal, totalitarian rulers over their victims.”

It disputed police allegations that weapons or violence were used in the break-in.

Of the 10 suspects, the documents listed the names and birth dates of seven, including citizens of Mexico, the United States, and South Korea. All but one are under 30 years old.

The identification of at least some of the individuals in the group may have undermined their cause and perhaps endangered their lives, analysts and activists said.

“It was too risky,” said one South Korean human rights activist who previously worked with one of the suspects. “Now that their identities are known, they won’t be able to carry out activities as before.”

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron’s party will seek to draw Greens in the European Parliament into a centrist coalition it hopes to build after May’s elections, a candidate on Macron’s ticket said on Wednesday.
“We’ll champion a coalition deal and clearly we’ll offer the European Greens the opportunity to join,” Pascal Canfin, number two on Macron’s list of candidates for the May 26 election told France Inter radio.
Macron is hoping to break the dominance of the conservative EPP and Social-Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament, much like he did to France’s mainstream parties in the country’s 2017 election.
Voter intention surveys show both the EPP and S&D will fail to win an outright majority, potentially placing the centrists Macron is hoping to unite in a position of king-maker.

NDUME TACKLES OSHIOMOLE AS PDP WARNS APC FOR SENATE PRESIDENCY

The Peoples Democratic Party and its senators on Tuesday berated President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress and its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, over their position on the leadership of the ninth National Assembly.

The PDP senators, in a statement in Abuja by the Minority Leader, Biodun Olujimi, and Senator Dino Melaye, asked their APC colleagues to leave the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, out of their schemes to produce the ninth Senate President.

On its part, the PDP said its elected senators and members of the House of Representatives were constitutionally eligible to lead both chambers of the National Assembly.

Statements by the opposition party and its senators were as a result of reports, which indicated that Saraki and the PDP senators planned to influence the emergence of the Senate President in the ninth National Assembly.

Also on Monday, Oshiomhole, at a meeting with members-elect of the House of Representatives, said the party must have its way in the National Assembly leadership.

The PDP senators, in their statement on Tuesday, warned that the PDP lawmakers would not allow any outsider to determine the next Senate President.

The statement read, “Let it be known that no matter the mischief being sponsored by these spineless people, Dr Saraki knows that it is the duty of all senators in the ninth Senate to elect their Senate President and other leaders.

“Nobody from outside the Senate has such powers. It is also the right of every senator to aspire to that position as stated by the constitution.

“He has benefited from this practice of senators within the chambers exercising the right. He is conscious of this fact and will not be a party to any plan to seize or interfere with the process of evolving the leadership of the ninth Senate.

Leviticus 1-9 explained the offering which is burnt sacrifice as a sweet savour unto the Lord "please Mark the word savour", verse 10 of that same chapter quoted that the sacrifice is a male sheep and goat without blemish, " blemish means without stain which signifies sin in human nature(read Revelation3:5, how Jesus clothed us with white raiment, it means how he cleans our sins, stain or blemish"). therefore, i want you to under line the word "Male" in the aforesaid chapter" male sheep and goat, not female' Leviticus 1:10-17 kept on calling these sacrifices sweet savour unto God, that shows that God had a plan for a savour to the world in other to please him always (Leviticus1-4 says and he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering and it shall be accepted for him to make an atonement" it means that the sins of the person will be transferred to the animal or burnt offering for atonement. "BREAKING NEWS' FIRE DESTROYED CLASSROOM IN KANO

A fire outbreak on Monday destroyed seven classrooms at Badawa Secondary School in Kano State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the incident in a statement.
He said the seven classrooms were razed around 1:30 a.m., adding that investigation revealed that the incident was as a result of a suspected electric spark from one of the laboratory classes.

“Cause of the inferno was suspected to be as a result of electric spark from one of laboratory classes.
“No loss of life or injury recorded,” he added.
He said the fire was brought under control by the firefighters.

COURT ORDER INEC TO CONTINUE WITH COLLATION IN BAUCHI GUBER ELECTION RESULT

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday gave the Independent National Electoral Commission the leeway to continue and conclude the collation of the results of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Delivering judgment, Justice Inyang Ekwo set aside his earlier order of March 19, 2019, which stopped the collation of the results.

After declining jurisdiction to hear the substantive case, the judge ruled in his judgment on Monday that “the defendant (INEC) should be allowed to continue its constitutional duty”.
“There is no legal impediment before the defendant to go on with the decision of the defendant to execute its decision in its press release,” the judge ruled.
The suit was filed by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate in the governorship election in the state, Governor Mohammed Abubakar.

INEC is the sole defendant.
The claimant had sued INEC to challenge the commission’s decision to resume and conclude collation and announce the final results of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state, after the election in the state had been declared inconclusive.
The APC and Abubakar, who is aiming to be elected for a second term as governor, had contended that INEC having announced that there would be a supplementary election, could not reverse the decision without the backing of an order of court.
But INEC had insisted that only the Election Petition Tribunal had the jurisdiction to hear the matter since the election had already held in part.

However, in his judgment, Justice Ekwo agreed that his court and the Election Petition Tribunal had concurrent jurisdiction to review the decision of INEC to reverse its earlier decision to conduct a supplementary election in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area until the final results of the election are announced.
He noted, however, that it was more appropriate to allow the Election Petition Tribunal to hear the complaints of the plaintiffs since the tribunal would have a broader jurisdiction to hear the complaint and the ones that would arise after the final results had been announced, and the winner returned.
